He is also the former national editor for the New York Times sister paper in South Korea, the Korea JoongAng Daily, and his writing has been published in The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Forbes, CNN, Slate and Vice, among others.
He has lived in Asia for over 14 years and also reported from Europe and the Middle East. He is half Russian, half Bahamian, and his favorite foods are pelmeni and conch salad.
